Standing appointments
Most clients have a regular appointment for weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly care so that they can schedule around it and have a sense of stability in their treatment.
Session Fees
When possible I am happy to help clients use Out-of-Network (OON) benefits for our sessions if I cannot take their plan. I also have discounted Out-of-Pocket (OOP) rates, listed below.
Initial/Intake Session:
$175
Follow-up Sessions:
Sliding scale of $100-150 per session
Do you offer crisis or after-hours services?
No. If you or others are in danger, please call 911, go to the local emergency room, or call any of the crisis support resources below.
However, if you are safe and just need an extra appointment before your next scheduled session, it is absolutely okay to reach out and see if there is any availability!
Is it possible to adjust your counseling appointment?
Absolutely! I want to maintain a relationship of mutual respect, collaboration, and open communication, so if keeping the standing appointment becomes a challenge, I will work with the client to find a better appointment of those available.
Your standing appointment is an agreement that is flexible, but also meant to be taken seriously, since frequent cancellation takes up my time that other folks can use to access care.
What is the cancellation policy for counseling sessions?
Cancellation with or without notice within 24 hours (unless it is due to a genuine emergency) is subject to a $60 fee which is not covered by insurance. Whenever at all possible I try to reschedule clients before the next appointment instead, to avoid charging the fee. A no call/no show without any follow-up within 24 hours, any incident of no show for an initial appointment, or rescheduling an initial appointment more than once leads to automatic discharge.

Office Etiquette
Our office is within another practice with access to a gender-neutral restroom and a quiet waiting area. As our space is shared, please do not take phone calls in our waiting area, and if possible, please use headphones to listen to anything with sounds. Feel free to decompress quietly in this gentle space before your session begins. Please do not knock on the office door, text Laura if you have concerns instead, as the door being closed is likely to indicate a session in progress.
Communicate with Laura as an established client via email or text please, or use TherapyNotes for HIPAA-compliant messaging.
Illness Policy
In case of therapist or client illness, please use telehealth. I will not knowingly come to work with any symptoms that are possibly contagious. I request all clients do the same. Please wear a mask if you wish or feel uncertain about very mild symptoms, and I will do the same. Let’s protect each other and the community, especially the most vulnerable.
